Frequently Asked Questions

What are your rates?

Rates for my content/copywriting depend on a lot of factors: your industry, what type of project(s) you need, how much involvement you want with the process (including edits), volume, due dates, how much information you provide in your scope of work, etc. With this in mind, it would be hard to give rates for different services.
Don't worry, though — you can fill out this Google form with as much detail as possible. I also take your budget into consideration; so, if you have one in mind, please share it with me and I'll get you a rate in 48 hours!

What's your process?
Generally, if you're looking for content/copywriting services, just fill out the form to get a quote, or learn more here. I'll send you a proposal, and if all sounds good, you'll pay a deposit (usually around 20-50% depending), sign the contract (which is meant to protect both of us!), and we'll get started.
For content strategy consulting calls, you book online, fill out a little information regarding what you want to talk about during the call, pay the full amount upfront, and we'll see each other soon!

How do you accept payment?

Credit card, ACH, Zelle, or Paypal, depending on which services you need. If you have any questions or needs regarding payment, feel free to contact me.

What's your cancellation policy?

For content/copywriting services, the contract and statement of work you'll receive after reviewing the proposal will outline the specific termination policy, if it's applicable. For consulting calls, you have up to 12 hours before the call is scheduled to get a full refund.
Otherwise, the call is non-refundable but you do have the option to reschedule one time. We're all human — so if you have any extenuating circumstances, don't hesitate to reach out.

Are you a licensed business owner?
Yes! Hana LaRock Writing LLC is registered in the United States. I work as an independent contractor/freelancer, so familiarize yourself with any tax responsibilities on your end, and I'll do mine!
Are you really a one-woman team?

Too many content agencies are just too big. In order for me to deliver high-quality work in half the time, I don’t redirect clients to a content mill, hire robots, or outsource to mysterious agencies.
Most of the time, you'll be working directly with me. If it is a high-volume project with rapid deadlines, I do have a team of trusted and reliable writers who are experienced and trained to help me with the job if need be.

Are you using AI?

I used to be super against AI when it first came out, out of fear that it would take jobs away from writers like myself. But, after playing around with ChatGPT, I could see that when put in the right hands — i.e., a professional content writer — there are SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCES in which it COULD be useful, like brainstorming ideas, creating outlines, etc.
So far, I've tried it out on a few articles, and found it only helped me with about 15% of the article and time. The amount I had to spend editing, revising, fact-checking, prompting, and re-creating made me realize it's not quite where it needs to be yet. Essentially, times that I have used it — which are few and far between — would not have led to producing the end result had it not been for my expertise.

Do you have connections with other professionals in your industry?

Yes! If you need services that I don't offer in conjunction with the ones that I do, I'd be happy to see if I can partner up with someone to execute the entire project, and/or connect you to other professionals that can help.

Do you work with marketing agencies and/or open-for-hire?

Sure! Though I do "take clients," I understand there are circumstances when your company is the one hiring the freelancer, whether you're a marketing agency who needs to bring on a copywriter or a company is looking to contract a writer.

Are you able to write about my industry?

I'm experienced in writing in real estate, finance, tech, B2B/B2C, fintech, investing, personal finance, higher education, healthcare, insurance, legal, SaaS, identity and access management, network infrastructure, product reviews, journalism, and marketing, etc.
Within these industries, I've done different types of projects, related to copywriting, content writing, and content strategy. If you don't see your industry on the list, chances are I'm able to do my research and learn about it quickly so I can provide you with your deliverable(s).

Are you able to guarantee results for copywriting or SEO writing?
I'm not superwoman. But, I do have ten years of experience doing this work, and staying up to date with latest trends in MY industry so I can best serve you in YOUR industry. This means that I will do my absolute best to give you the results you're looking for, but also help both of us manage appropriate expectations based on your goals — and what I believe is doable/reachable/possible — right from the start.
Keep in mind that there are many factors that impact results, whether that be sales, conversions, leads, reads, or search engine ranking. I won't make any promises I can't keep, but I will make suggestions where I see fit and where you welcome them. Ultimately, I'm confident that you'll be happy with the work I do for you.

In the meantime, take a look at my testimonials and metrics to see what my clients think!

Do you do sponsored guest posts or back linking?

Generally, no. But, there may be some situations in which we can still work together! I also welcome press-trips, but cannot guarantee placement.

How can I learn more about content writing/copywriting, content strategy, and related work in general?

Not everyone has the ability to hire a freelancer right now, and that's okay. I created resources and blog posts to help answer as many questions as possible!
